Fun Activity Ideas

Have A Picnic

Everyone loves a picnic.  If you don’t feel like venturing too far then you can always do this in your own garden, otherwise, the local park or beach is a great place to have a picnic.  You can share this time and invite some friends or family along too.  We have some fantastic picnic products such as picnic rugs, snack pots, lunch bags and keep warm bowls, to make things a little simpler.

Go For A Woodland Walk

This is a wonderful way to introduce your baby or toddler to nature. There are usually plenty of things to see, such as squirrels and birds, and sounds to listen for. Can they hear the buzzing bees? They may like to feel the grass, smell the flowers or collect fallen leaves. Why not look for bugs and creepy crawlies and encourage them to name what they have found. There is a whole classroom in the big outdoors just waiting to be explored.

Have Fun With Water

This is a really simple way to have fun and you can easily do it at home in your own garden. Fill some water trays or even a small shallow paddling pool and let your little one have a good old splash about. You could bring bath toys outside or use plastic cups and kitchen utensils for plenty of pouring fun.

If you are feeling a little more adventurous head to the seaside, splash on the shoreline, jump over the little waves as they meet the sand or collect seashells.

Be Prepared

When heading out with little ones it is always best to be prepared for any situation.  There’s nothing more frustrating than having to head back and forth to the car to collect something you have forgotten or cutting your trip short to go home and get an essential that you needed.  Here is a list of essentials to pack in your changing or day bag:

  • Plenty of water to drink
  • Some healthy snacks
  • Suitable footwear
  • Spare socks
  • Sunhat & sunscreen
  • A warm jacket or jumper
  • A towel
  • Changing mat, wipes, nappies & nappy sacks
  • Pushchair toys or a book

Must-Have Pushchair Accessories

There a wide choice of pushchair accessories that will probably become invaluable to you when you head outdoors. They may not be something you recognise as needed at first but we think they will probably become your best buys.

Cup Holders

These simply clip onto the handle of your buggy or stroller and are ideal for keeping your child’s bottle, sippy cup or even your own drink within easy reach. This is actually quite important as the weather gets warmer and you both need to stay well hydrated.
