Christmas is an incredibly busy time of year, especially when you have a new baby. With the constant planning of presents, visitors and cooking the Christmas dinner, it can almost be too easy to forget to create the memories that will really matter to your child. Here at Daisy Baby we have put together 10 of our favourite baby Christmas traditions that will add a little extra magic to your Christmas.

Christmas Baby

1. Create A Personalised Christmas Card

The year goes by so quickly and if your relatives live away, they may not get to see your babies milestones. This year start a tradition of making a Christmas card with your babies picture on the front. Relatives and friends will then be able to see the changes in your baby and feel more involved with your Christmas.

2. Visit Santa

Every child loves to visit Santa and even if your baby doesn't quite understand who Santa is yet except a man in a red suit, it will still be a magical experience for the both of you. Events are being held all over the country where you can visit Santa and have a wonderful festive day out.

3. See The Christmas Lights

You may have missed your local Christmas lights being turned on this year, but that doesn't mean that you can't still enjoy them. Take a look around your local village or city centre and point out the lights to your baby. They will love this tradition as the bright lights stimulate the senses and get them all excited for Christmas.

4. Create A Stocking

Watching your new baby tear open their stockings on Christmas morning is a lovely experience so why not create a tradition by personalising their own unique stocking with their name. Your baby will then associate it with presents when they see it hanging from the mantle piece all ready for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.

5. Buy A Novelty Christmas Outfit

Dressing your baby up in an adorable Christmas outfit is one tradition that all parents absolutely love. These can scale from a novelty pair of pyjamas to a fun Christmas character perfect for a yearly Christmas photo op.

6. Christmas Socks

No Christmas is complete without a pair of socks, so start the tradition of making it the first present that your baby opens. Select a new design each year and see the difference in your child's foot size.

7. Put The Angel On The Top Of The Tree

Depending on the age of your baby, they may be slightly to young to decorate the tree, but they can still be involved. Just before you turn on the fairy lights, let your baby place the last ornament on the top of the tree. They will feel a sense of pride and involvement making the centre piece even more special.

8. Watch A Christmas Classic

Rudolf, Frosty The Snowman or the Grinch, whatever film your baby loves, sit down with a bowl of popcorn and watch it as a family every year. The perfect tradition that really signifies that it is Christmas.

9. Turn A Hand Print Into An Ornament

For your baby's first Christmas, place their hand print on a bauble and hang it on the tree. This tradition will bring back wonderful memories every year.

10. Create A Keep Safe Box

Creating all of these Christmas memories is so much fun, but where do you store all of them throughout the rest of the year? This Christmas memory box is a great idea and makes sure that all of your special treasures are kept safe. Include letters to Santa, ornaments and even photos that can be presented to your baby when they are older.
